The Ministry of Health Health Facility Registry lists 14,354 facilities across Mainland Tanzania but publishes no coordinates, so only some of them can be placed here; the rest come from OpenStreetMap, which is also where Zanzibar and the 1,142 pharmacies come from, since the registry covers neither. The 43 national and referral hospitals are hand-verified against both. A marker is only drawn where a position is known — the registry does not publish coordinates for the rest, so those facilities are searchable by name in the Ministry's own registry rather than here.
